Elegant wedding in the heart of historic Minneapolis

I get asked by couples pretty frequently, "what sort of couples do i like working with?"⁠

And i will always say, first and foremost, we need to connect. We need to vibe. We need to feel comfortable. ⁠
⁠
After that, if you're down for doing something fun and different, I’m always going to want to work with you.⁠ Jared and Lauren have trusted me from our first zoom meeting, to our engagement session exploring the bluffs outside my city of Red Wing, to their wedding day where we wandered the historic street of Saint Anthony Maine. Spending this day with them was a joy.

L & J tied the knot at Minneapolis Event Centers, right off the river. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this venue, I have worked there dozens of times and all my couples rave about their space, gorgeous, elegant, and the staff is top notch. 10/10 recommend.

There were alot of things about this day that were enjoyable, perfect even. But, for someone who has done countless cookie cutter weddings, I am here to say the moments you don’t plan or expect can end up defining your day and more specifically the way you react to it.

For example, just before the ceremony there was a zipper incident with the maid of honors dress, like it broke, irripairable. So I sewed her into it. haha Did Lauren freak out? absolutely not, we rolled with it. Was is a perfect job? Fuck no, I suck at sewing, but it got her down the aisle.

Once that crisis was averted we headed out to do the deed (get married) Minneapolis Event Center The Grand has this gorgeous courtyard garden that is amazing for an outdoor ceremony. As soon as things kicked off, it started to pour. I don’t it started to sprinkle to warn us inside I mean one minute it wasn’t raining and then it was POURING. This bride and groom laughed and took it in and then ushered people inside where we picked it up. It was beautiful and perfect, and their joy was completely contagious. It was better honestly than if it hadn’t rained.
